Each and every Norstar employee, many of whom have been with us since we first opened in 1988, is valued for the unique experience and skills that they contribute. Some of us have had extensive careers in the Canadian meat packing industry, while others come with years of flexible packaging experience in the Canadian industry. By combining the strengths of both, we have created a special group of individuals who are not just co-workers but a team that supports each other, just as we support our customers and markets, with strength and loyalty.
Additionally, we have hosted some major Open House events, usually held on the Thursday evening closest to June 21st (the first day of summer). We take this opportunity to celebrate and support various charities or worthwhile causes, such as the building and ongoing maintenance of The Juno Beach Memorial, which commemorates the D-Day landing at Courseuille-sur-Mer in Normandy, France. Other causes we've supported include the Daily Bread Food Bank, the Salvation Army, the Yonge Street Mission, Covenant House and Jessie's Center, the Ikono General Hospital Project in Nigeria, and the St. Mark's Mzuzu AIDS Orphanage in Malawi.
